How to reach Würzburg and the Conference Venue
Arriving by Airplane & Train, then by Tram
From Frankfurt Airport:
There are direct trains from Frankfurt Airport to the Würzburg main train station at hourly intervals. The main train station links Würzburg directly to more than 30 major European cities. The trains leaving from Frankfurt Airport directly are “ICE” trains, which stands for “Intercity Express”. They are the fastest way of traveling, ca. 1.5h. Regional trains are leaving from “Frankfurt Südbahnhof”, which can be reached by bus from the airport. These are less costly but also slower.
Important: the last regular ICE to Würzburg Hauptbahnhof leaves Frankfurt Airport at 22:04, the last regional train leaves Frankfurt Südbahnhof at 22:36!
From Nürnberg Airport:
Take the U-Bahn Line U2 to “Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof”.
Take the ICE from “Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof” to “Würzburg Hauptbahnhof”; ca. 1h.
Important: the last regular ICE to Würzburg Hauptbahnhof leaves Nürnberg Hauptbahnhof at 00:17!
From München Airport:
Take S1 or S8 to “München Hauptbahnhof”.
Take the ICE from “München Hauptbahnhof” to “Würzburg Hauptbahnhof”; ca. 2.5h.
Important: the last regular ICE to Würzburg Hauptbahnhof leaves München Hauptbahnhof at 22:18!

Arrival in Würzburg:
Upon arrival in Würzburg train station (“Würzburg Hauptbahnhof”), the conference venue is a ~25 minute walk away
Alternatively, there are public transport options available:
- The tram stops are situated in front of the main station
- Take the tram 1 or 5 from "Hauptbahnhof Ost" direction “Grombühl” to the stop “Uniklinikum Bereich D” (5-10 minutes)

Tram/Bus tickets: available at the ticket machines at tram stops or from bus drivers
VISA cards might not work, use either EC cards or cash
- single ride: “Einzelkarte” - 2.80€ (one ride, as many stops as needed but no switches between busses or trams possible)
- combined ticket: “6er-Karte” - 11.40€ (either six rides or six persons at once, valid for 90 minutes, switching between busses/trams possible)
- daily ticket: “Tageskarte Solo” - 4.60€ (one person, whole day until 3am of the next day, all of Würzburg)
- daily ticket plus: “Tageskarte Plus” - 6.60€ (2 Adults, whole day until 3am of the next day, all of Würzburg)
- group ticket: “Gruppenkarte” - 1.20€ per person (> ten people, needs to be pre-booked, so probably not a option for anyone)

From the direction of Nürnberg:

- Stay left, follow signs direction “Rottendorf/B8”, continue on Bundesstraße 8
- Follow B8 until Petrinistr.
- Turn left to stay on Schweinfurter Str./B8
- Take Exit B8 direction “B27/Marktheidenfeld/Fulda/Stadtring-Nord/Oberdürrbach/Grombühl”
- Continue on Schweinfurter Str./B8
- Take the right lane to Grombühlstr.
- Turn right to Gutenbergstr.
- Turn right to Petrinistr.
- The conference venue is on the right
From the direction Frankfurt:
- Drive on the motorway A3 until the exit Route 19 direction Heidingsfeld/Zentrum/Bad Mergentheim/Giebelstadt
- Take Bundesstraße 19 (yellow sign) in the direction of Würzburg, Heidingsfeld/Zentrum
- take the middle lane to exit at the B19 and enter the B8 direction “Marktheidenfeld/B27/Fulda/Stadtring-Nord/Congress-Centrum/Uniklinikum/Grombühl”
- turn left to enter Schweinfurter Str./B8 then enter Grombühlstr until Petrinistraße
- Exit B8 direction “B27/Marktheidenfeld/Fulda/Stadtring-Nord/Oberdürrbach/Grombühl”
- Continue on Schweinfurter Str./B8
- Continue on Grombühlstraße
- Slight right turn to stay on Grombühlstr.
- Turn right to enter Petrinistr.
- Turn left at the end of the street
- The conference venue is on the right
Parking
Due to ongoing construction, parking on-campus is very limited. There are other parking options available closeby, one parking garage down the street, and one up the hill of the institute (near ZIM/ZOM) with more outside parking spots adjacent to the garage:

The University Hospital's shuttle bus service can be used free of charge from ZIM/ZOM parking, ride on the shuttle and hop-out at Frauenklinik Stop and walk downwards on the street and at around 300m on the left is building D15. The bus runs every 10-15 minutes from Monday to Friday between 5.45 a.m. and 7.15 p.m. Following is a useful link for further information:
